You need to join this class in Turnitin. You need to join by Friday, 1/6, to receive credit for this assignment.
If you have not yet created a Turnitin account, you can do so by clicking here. Follow the instructions to create a student account. Once you have created your account (or if you already have one), you need to login and join this class. The section ID for this class is 13122578. The password is lovebiden81. If you are having difficulty, you should check out this link that will tell you how to enroll in our class on Turnitin. You currently have 4 different assignments in the gradebook for this marking period. 4Here is information for each of those assignments. 1. Presidential debate chart. You can find it by clicking here. 2. FRQ Revision (Freenor Collaboration): this was an assignment where you had to revise the FRQ from Freenor's class. If you have a zero for it, you need to do it and submit it to me ASAP. 3. Film Shorts Theme Analysis. Click here to see this assignment. 4. Inside Out Constructed Responses. Here is the document for that assignment. As I mentioned to you in class, I've been noticing that many of you are having issues with run-on sentences and fragments in your writing. You need to write down (yes, you have to hand-write it) everything from these notes and turn them in for a grade. And you should check out the videos below. They can help make sense of those pesky run-ons and fragments that creep into your writing!
Also, my printer would not work this morning, so I will be distributing progress reports to you on Friday, 9/9/16. If your parent wants an update on your grade before then, they may email me and I'll send it. :)
Today we discussed the Monomyth and the stages of the Hero's Journey. Below you'll find the video and Powerpoint I showed in class. You'll also see your assignment to create a multimedia digital presentation that outlines the stages of a hero's journey.
Below you will find some of the documents you may need to complete the assignments we did in class for "The Scarlet Ibis."
Here is a .pdf of the story in case you need it. The audio is below also.
Today in class we read Edgar Allan Poe's "The Cask of Amontillado." After we read, I gave you a narrative writing assignment for the story. I am putting both that assignment and the analytical writing assignment that we'll be doing on Friday here on this post.
Hi, my sweets! Sorry I have to be out today. I'm home with two sick kids. :(
So, first things first: you were supposed to do your song lyric presentations today. Obviously that isn't going to happen since I'm out and I want to hear them to get to know you. We will push that assignment to Friday. BE PREPARED. You have absolutely no excuse not to have that presentation ready. Here are your assignments for today. You will turn all of these assignment in to Mrs. Baker by the end of the class period. You need to read "The Most Dangerous Game" on pp. 16-36 of the green textbook (at the back of the room on top of the filing cabinet). You then need to answer #'s 1-7 on p. 37. You also need to answer the following short answer questions. Each answer should be between 2-3 sentences.
Hi! I'm so, so happy that you're in my class. We're going to have a great year! You're going to leave this class a better thinker, reader, writer, and persuader than you are today. In case you didn't get one at open house, here's the FAQ sheet and the syllabus for this course. |
